DIY website
Over the last few months we have been publishing news stories, both on our website and in printed form. This month's news story is a bit of a 'behind the scenes' look at the system that makes it possible to publish these stories and add them to our (and possible your) web site.
iUpdate is a system developed by Byte Services to allow anyone to change the content of their website using nothing more than a web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape Communigator, Opera, OmniWeb, etc). No knowledge of HTML is required (although if you do know some the possibilities are endless) to add, edit and delete sections of your site including stylised text, graphics and links. Simply click the 'Add' button, fill in a few fields, and press 'Submit'. You have added an article to your website.
If you want to change an existing article just click on 'Update/Delete', select the article you wish to modify, change the information, and click 'Submit'. And you can delete articles just as easily. Simple locate the record through the 'Update/Delete' function and press 'Delete'.
iUpdate can be added to any website, or form the basis of a new website design. And iUpdate is not limited to news stories. iUpdate can be used for pages of links, catalogues, shopping carts (our iSELLit e-Commerce system uses iUpdate) or any other part of a web site that would benefit from frequent changes and fresh content.
